Team P/L

For every club in the tracked leagues, this page shows what a flat stake on that team in every one of its matches would have returned at Pinnacle closing prices, and what the opposite bet, fading the team, would have returned. Each is split by season and by venue, so home and away records are visible separately.

How the numbers are calculated

Backing a team means a flat stake, 50 units by default and adjustable on the page, on it to win at the Pinnacle closing 1X2 price. A win returns the stake times the price; a draw or defeat loses the stake. Fading a team means the same stake on the Double Chance against it, priced by combining the other two Pinnacle closing prices (1 divided by the sum of their implied probabilities). Profit and loss is the sum across matches, and ROI is that sum divided by the total staked.

Where the data comes from

Results and closing prices for 2021/22 to January 2026 are the Pinnacle closing columns from football-data.co.uk. From February 2026 the closing price is SteamWatch's own capture from The Odds API: the last Pinnacle snapshot before kickoff. For the roughly 200 matches between the two sources, where neither has a Pinnacle price, the Betfair Exchange closing price stands in. Results are re-imported every Monday and prices filled the same morning.

A current figure

Across 195 Premier League matches since 2021/22, backing Aston Villa in every one at the closing price returned +25.6% on turnover, the best blind-back record in the league as of 2026-10-12. The same closing prices drive Longshot Bias, which asks the same question of favourites and underdogs as groups rather than of individual clubs.
